firefox3-3.0b5-1 broken?

I previous used unstable's firefox3-3.0b4 and it worked great.  But after upgrading to 3.0b5, there were major problems:
- typing a URL into the URL bar results in an assert dialog and doesn't go to the URL.
- six of the seven tabs in the prefs dialog are blank.

Reverting to 3.0b4 resolves those issues... I was glad I hadn't yet done a pacman -Scc because I can't find the 3.0b4 package anymore.

Anyone else see the same problems?

None of those problems is occurring here. I'm using firefox 3.0b5-1 from [unstable].

Thanks for the reply.
Knowing that it works for someone else, I tried it on a second machine... yep, it works for me too.

I guess it's just something I have messed up on my first machine.

Try "firefox-spookyet" from AUR. It's awesome.

You can delete or better yet, rename the hidden .mozilla folder in your /home directory to get a fresh start.  You can recover your bookmarks from the renamed folder.

Nice, but not for me... I'm building a VM that will be used by many people.  Not all of them have LCDs, so some would get strange colors making their fonts look blurry.

Although, does your PKGBUILD brand it as "Firefox" rather than "Minefield"?  Maybe I'll just use part of your config and build it by hand.
