The link to it is grayed out here.

Is there a workaround? I really would like to install gnome.

Which mirror are you using?
The file is visible here.
Improve your desktop responsiveness and font rendering and ALSA sound and BusyBox init

gstreamer0.10-base-plugins is on the mirror, but its dependency "gstreamer0.10-base>=0.10.18-2" is not. Funny thing is, .18 is not the latest.
If I could get around that, then gnome would install. Do you know which of these is making gstreamer its dependency?

Just run: pacman -Syu
These files are present:
ftp://ftp-linux.cc.gatech.edu/pub/linux … pkg.tar.gz

The files are present but the database is wrong.... You can follow the workaround in the bug report: http://bugs.archlinux.org/task/10095

It's a different error for base-plugins.
These files are present:

But what about gstreamer0.10-base>=0.10.18-2 ?

But what about gstreamer0.10-base>=0.10.18-2 ?
I just gave you a link to it. Learn what ">=" means. 0.10.19 is greater. In other news, 2+2=4.

I have similar problem with gnome and brasero. Gnome-applets require gstremer0.10-alsa. Where can I find that package. I installed gstremer0.10-base, gstremer0.10-base-plugins, gstremer0.10-good, and whatever I found in the database, but I do not find nothing about alsa. Brasero requires gstremer0.10-gconf, but I cannot find it too. Can someone help me here.

I think those packages are deprecated. In a recent update i was prompted to replace all those things except -base -good -ugly and -bad. I guess the dependencies need updating. Contact the maintainer
