OOo dropdown menu in wrong place

There's been so little mention of this here that i'm starting to think it's only me with this problem. I believe this is an upstream bug rather than an arch bug.

The dropdown menus (e.g. file, edit) drop down when clicked, but are all located all the way to the right of the screen. Apparently this is common to some window managers (according to some bugreports I found on google from a year back or so. Supposedly meant to be fixed). I had this problem in openbox with OOo 2.3 and still have it in fluxbox with OOo 2.4

This problem only occurs when doing: export OOO_FORCE_DESKTOP=gnome
