Arch doesn't recognize a Staples-brand "Relay" 1GB USB flash drive

When I plug it in, it shows a couple new usbdev entries in /dev, but it doesn't make an enty for it as a storage device.  HAL doesn't regognize it either, if I plug it in, there are no new icons on my XFCE desktop.  If I reboot the machine with the drive plugged in, it hangs at udev until I remove the drive.

lsusb entry:

Bus 001 Device 003: ID 0781:540a SanDisk Corp.

Any ideas or should I file a bug report?

If thedrive has not been partitioned it may not be recognized.

Try using gparted to identify it and proceed from there.

You know, on Windows, this thing does this real hokey cdrom emulation that houses so-called "drivers" for this drive ... I can see why Arch is having a fit with it.  I tried it on another Arch machine in the office and it didn't work either.  Windows even has a lot of trouble with it too.  I wonder if this thing can be low-level formatted ...

I picked up a SanDisk drive once that had some sort of X3 crap all over it and so it wouldn't work with linux. I found a removal utility on the SanDisk site that killed it. The utility is Windows only, though.

Edit: Just checked the drive, and it was U3 not X3.

^ Yeah, that's exactly what I got.  There are a few Windows machines at work where the drive is, so I'll look for that utility and see what I can do.  THANKS!
