Nokia N70 here, works fine, but with obex, not UMS. I use bluetooth for the connection, but obex works with USB too (according to the docs - I've never used it that way). Various relevant packages in the repos - a search for 'obex' will get you started.

Yes my nokia works with usb. The memory card that is. I havent tried to connect to the phones memory yet Address books and such.

You could try the Xgnokii program to connect to phone ram. (or if all else fails run the windows nokia suite in virtualbox)

N70 here with obex also, bluetooth and usb tested. Currently I'm having problems with udev permissions to be able to do things as a normal user, haven't solved that one yet. Running obex as root works just fine.

It turns out that N95 is not supported by gammu or gnokii atm.... I can use bluetooth although Its a little hit and miss but I have manged to get usb connection working which means I can transfer files to and from phone...

Well its a start :-)

I have a Nokia 6280 and when I connect it via USB i can choose between the modes Standard, Printing and File.
Standard, which is used to connect to the Nokia PC Suite doesen't work, but File does and the phone can be mounted.

I use E70 via bluetooth to access phone mem and memory card.
gnome-vfs-obexftp package is da bomb. I suggest to try that one.
