[SOLVED] Blurry image using SANE

I just bought a HP OfficeJet 5610 and set it up to work with SANE. When I load pages into the document feed and scan them using SANE,  they have a ton of streaks like this image:

But if I scan the load the same pages into the document feed and scan using the Windows software which comes with my HP, they come out looking like this:

This must be a driver issue -- how can I fix this? I really want to get my scanner working with SANE... but I can't have my documents looking all streaky...

Oh, if I scan pages using the flatbed scanner (instead of the document feed) using SANE, they come out looking fine... but I need to scan about 400 pages, so a working document feed is must.

Ok, this one was really dumb. The problem was my resolution -- the default resolution, 72 dpi, was too low. I increased it to 310 dpi, and images now come out great.
