ndiswrapper, hardware not detected

I have a wireless usb device that uses the SWL-2300U drivers. It seems to work fine in windows, and the drivers are installed with niswrapper, but for some reason the device isn't detected by ndiswrapper. lsusb shows it as ID 055d:a230 Samsung Electro-Mechanics Co, and ndiswrapper seems to load fine

ndiswrapper version 1.52 loaded (smp=yes, preempt=yes)
usbcore: registered new interface driver ndiswrapper

But it just won't show up for some reason. Initially, when I loaded the driver it complained about not having acx100.bin, which is specified in the INF file. So, after some searching, I found out that this file was equivalent to the tiacx100 firmware, and after copying that to my home directory when adding the driver via ndiswrapper it doesn't complain about it not being there. However, it still wouldn't show up after loading ndiswrapper. What's odd is that I can't find the acx100.bin file specified in the INF under windows, and it appears to behave like a USB mass storage device in that I can stop/remove it. Any ideas as to how I could get this thing working?
