usb modem inacessible.

I already added my username to the tty group and is trying to access the modem via CLI

sudo echo "ATZ" > /dev/ttyUSB0

and I get the error "bash: /dev/ttyUSB0: Permission denied"

Same permission error from gtkterm.

Re: usb modem inacessible.

My USB dial-up (is yours dial-up?) modem is /dev/ttyACM0 and is in the group uucp. I actually don't have any /dev/ttyUSB*...all my usb stuff is under /dev/bus/usb...

Re: usb modem inacessible.

Err .. if it's any difference, it's a GSM/GPRS modem.

Nope, I don't have it as /dev/ttyACM0 and I use minicom for access.
