New ABS coming soon?

Two questions:

1. Any ETA on the arrival of the revised ABS program?  I noticed it was in testing already.
2. Any reason why the revamped ABS system hasn't been mentioned in the announcements section of the forum or on the main page?  I'm sure there are others who've been wondering why only the community/cvs PKGBUILDS have been updating recently.

Looks like the new ABS program (rsync version) is progressing nicely.  Here's hoping it comes out soon.  Thanks!
