I have some questions about Arch. First, how can I type an "é" or an "ü"? In Windows, I type <"> <E"> to get ë and <"> <SPACE> <E> to get "e, but this doesn't work in Arch. Do I have to use ALT-#### codes or is there another way?
Secondly, can someone explain me how to install a (tar.gz) package that isn't in the Arch repository? I've read about ABS and buildpkg, but it's Chinese to me. I'm trying to get the latest version of Deluge (the repository only has an older version), which has to be downloaded as a package.
Thanks in advance.
Edit: I'm using XFCE btw.

"man pacman" and look at its "-U" switch, for a .pkg.tar.gz file.
With deluge, compile from source using its PKGBUILD.

What's your XkbLayout in xorg.conf? Try to change it to 'nl' and see also http://www.linux.com/articles/51644 for more about this.

My Xkblayout is us. I don't think I'll have to change it because I have a normal American keyboard (qwerty, with $ sign). When I switch to keyboard language NL in Windows my keyboard layout is messed up (for example, when I press <?> I get an = sign).
I have succesfully build the Quake 3 package (from the AUR), so I think I can do the same with other packages. The Quake 2 package from the AUR is not working though >_>
So now I know how to build packages from the AUR, but how do I handle normal .tar.gz packages without a "PKGBUILD" file? These packages often have a "makefile", can I use that to build a package?
