Xorg hangs system?

Hello,

if I run Xorg -configure on my system the screen is black and the whole system seems to be stalled. Only C-A-Del works.
However, if I create a config with xorgconfig I can run X without any problems.

Xorg -configure works e.g. on crux on my system, so what makes it hang on arch?
