Cups

[duncan@myhost etc]$ /etc/rc.d/cups start
:: Starting CUPS Daemon [BUSY] cupsd: Child exited with status 1!
                                                                         [FAIL]
[duncan@myhost etc]$

This happens when I start CUPS
I am trying to figure out how to set up my HP laserget 5 printer.
The wiki helped install cups, but I don't quite see how to configure it.

Re: Cups

Check out http://localhost:631/help for what to do....

or modify the /etc/cups/cupsd.conf or cupsd.conf.default, and copy it over.

The text configuration isn't too hard since it is pretty well commented.

more information in our wiki http://wiki.archlinux.org/index.php/Cups

When I click this link, it says " localhost" refused the connection.

Re: Cups

Aren't you supposed to be starting a daemon like that as root?
It looks like you tried to start cups as a regular user in the code that you posted.

Re: Cups

oops. I tried several times, but I guess I failed to try as root. Stupid of me.
By the way, I love the mass amount of control arch gives me over my system.
