Hi
I new to Archlinux (came from Crux
.
My question is how can i create my own packages ?
I want to create a new package for Nagios i.ex. but i cant find a Howto for create package.
on Crux i used the Pkgfile , how is it with Archlinux
BTW. I switched completly over from Crux to Archlinux
....

no offense but one would expect users coming from crux to find their way around really quick. you re excused but only for the first time ![]()
ps. unlike the crux wiki and mailing lists as well as the forum Archlinux has much more detailed instructions for pretty much everything.

A PKGBUILD is much like Crux's Pkgfile, except somewhat more full-featured. Arch's makepkg is somewhat like Crux's pkgmk -- it runs the instructions from the PKGBUILD to build a package that's installable with pacman. ABS is kind of like Crux's ports tree. Pacman is sort of like prt-get, except it only deals with packages and doesn't build them by itself. There should be manpages and wiki pages for everything.
