Throttling Pacman?

Hello,

I have a really slow internet connection out where I live, and by that I mean it never goes faster than 50 kb/s. I find myself constantly halting pacman whenever I need to visit a website due to its tendency to use the full extent of available bandwidth. For that reason I ask: is there a quick and simple way to throttle pacman's downloading?

trickle should do what you want.
