Merging configuration files?

I had the same problem with http://bbs.archlinux.org/viewtopic.php?id=47476
but then I noticed that I have several .pacnews in my /etc , what are the best practices to update/merge them all ?

This was already discussed in another thread (at least one).
I suggest using vimdiff or pacdiff from pacman-contrib package in community.
But you need to know vim smile


pacman roulette : pacman -S $(pacman -Slq | LANG=C sort -R | head -n $((RANDOM % 10)))

Next release should contain a mecanism for auto merging config files
