I'm trying to use the web interface to the CVS entries in some packages, but it seems that the files there are outdated. I've heard about migration to SVN, so maybe this is a known problem that will get solved soon. Just wanted to ask and make sure.
Example, in case I didn't explain the problem correctly. I want to rebuild the recently released HAL package (hal-0.5.11rc2), so I go here and click on CVS entries to download the PKGBUILD and patches, but the PKGBUILD is 5 months old and the latest patch (addon-input-nval.patch) is not available.
Anyone knows anything about this?

I think it might have something to do with the switch, but I'm not sure. I don't know if there's other functionality you're looking for, but if you just want to rebuild the package yourself than using abs might be the way to go.

Thanks Snowman, that could be a workaround until the issue is fixed (though the patch in the example I put is also missing... At least the PKGBUILD is up to date).

It's not a "workaround". Our CVS is dead, and we won't be using it anymore.

Ok, but then the web interface should be changed to point to the new address. I don't really care if the backend is CVS or SVN, I'd just want it to work.
As a side note: The two packages I checked have problems. HAL is missing a patch mentioned in the PKGBUILD and kdeutils has a 7 month old PKGBUILD, when the package was updated yesterday. I haven't checked anything else, but I'll take a look to see if these are just exceptions and everything else is working as expected.

This is unclear, but I *think* I can read between the lines enough to assume you're talking about the web page which displays package information when you say "the web interface". If so, then this is coming soon.... we're already testing it now.

If a patch is missing, it's missing. Report it to the maintainer of that package so he can check it into SVN.
As for kdeutils, it was modified 30 hours ago: http://repos.archlinux.org/viewvc.cgi/kdeutils/trunk/

Yes, that's exactly what I meant, thanks.

Yes, kdeutils is updated now, thanks (it wasn't a few hours ago). I'll report about that missing patch in HAL.
