Weird pacman upgrade issue

Ok folks... plain and simple...got this error:

Proceed with installation? [Y/n]
checking package integrity...
(80/80) checking for file conflicts                 [#####################] 100%
error: could not prepare transaction
error: failed to commit transaction (conflicting files)
gpm: /usr/lib/libgpm.so.1 exists in filesystem
Errors occurred, no packages were upgraded.

It is worth mentioning that this is my second try doing the updates, the first was done when I was d/ling a bunch of other crap at the same time and literally saturating my line.  I'm thinking I have a corrupt download, but don't know how to clear it out.  I was thinking just delete libgpm.so.1 or renaming it but I wanted advice first, is this the right fix?

Re: Weird pacman upgrade issue

Yes, just delete /usr/lib/libgpm.so.1
