The easiest method is to use syslinux that is already installed with arch-live

label GRUB4DOS
     KERNEL grub.exe

Alternatively you can also use grubinst https://sourceforge.net/project/showfil … _id=474675.

Check also this tutorial http://grub4dos.sourceforge.net/wiki/in … s_tutorial.

Re: archiso-live cd release (20081005)

I've just tried booting the "amparch" live-cd.
It has an installer on the desktop.

I can't say that I've tried to use it and I know it's in alpha, so YMMV.
http://bbs.archlinux.org/viewtopic.php?id=50742

It uses LXDE instead of XFCE so I prefer arch-live at the moment, but maybe the 2 project leaders should combine their brilliance?
That is the beauty of FOSS.

You should use "arch" in both sections, cause you don't want to login as root, well presumably.
If you do want to login as root, you use "root" in the first (login)section, and "ArchLinux" is the password for the root account so you put it in the password section following up...
Clear?

I hope this helps.

Re: archiso-live cd release (20081005)

Arch-live 20080706 release
I'm updating arch-live cause I got linux-live to work with initramfs now. I think everything is working but I have not checked out changes boot option. Also I have updated everything to 20080706 in iso. The only thing I didn't updated is xf86-video-vesa driver. Its cause the new 2.0.0 vesa driver cause virtualbox not work with it.

I have also updated the kernel to 2.6.25.10. I'm using my new kernel26slax package in aur now. Aufs is also updated since I'm compiling againist the kernel for it to work now. The lastest devel package is also in iso under devel folder of the iso.

I move cups from 02-apps.lzm to 03-xorg.lzm because its not need for the arch core live menu option to work. libcups is staying in 02-apps.lzm cause it maybe need by some command line programs. 02-apps.lzm module is now 6mb less without cups in it.

You can get the iso here.

It will be done uploading at 1:30am EST time.

Re: archiso-live cd release (20081005)

Running it right now:
Tried out all the desktops - work great
Installed weechat via pacman - work great

I am noticing that slim doesn't like to be restarted.  I had to change my res in xorg and did the /etc/rc.d/slim restart  -- it drops to cli and than I have to reissue the command to get it back up.  ctrl alt backspace drops to cli also.  For me, it's no big deal, just an observation

How are you getting nvidia to load and work?  I grabbed the module and activated it, ?????

I don't care for the theme background image at all - I would try to stick to something more professional looking to get serious attention.

Running really good here for the past couple hours using awesome.  :-)
