Re: Tremulous players in a DAILY BASIS in arch community ?

Just to provide some information about the server: We're running it "pure" -- no game-altering mods (for the most part), no retarded maps, and I've tried to tailor the admin levels to prevent possible abuse. I'm setting up some !info docs, please read them.

About the server -- exactly _how_ classic is it? I hope you use a fairly recent revision, at least for the admins' sakes smile I run the client from http://www.trem-servers.com, and I play on some servers using that server build.

Eh, I was against unlagged when it happened, but after getting used to it, it really is better for the game.

What does "unlagged" mean? I've always wondered...

Tremulous never looked that interesting to me, but I'm going to have to check it out now with all this arch clan talk. smile

It's a type of server side latency/ping compensation, basically it makes it easy for everyone to hit what they're shooting at.

Re: Tremulous players in a DAILY BASIS in arch community ?

In a nutshell, unlagged makes it so that your bullets hit what is under your crosshair when you fire. If not for unlagged, you would have to "lead" your shots, aiming not where your target is, but where it will be. The greater your latency to the server (ping), the more you have to lead. Unlagged gives everyone a level playing field, so to speak, so that low-pingers don't have an insane advantage.

Of course, it's more technically complicated than that, but that's the simple explanation

Re: Tremulous players in a DAILY BASIS in arch community ?

I always play on one of the Knights of Reason servers; awesome servers, and quite fair
More often than not I'm on the KoR Tremx server. ... usually go by Lord Anubis

Also, I use the oticz 2.2 hud, and the tremfusion client.... the tremfusion client supports voip and has a transparent console and stuff

MG Client also supports those features without supporting cheats too. I'm gonna be uploading a version to the arch-games repo at some point.

Hmm, yeah I've just became aware of the cheats it enables; and it will soon be banned on the KoR tremx server as it allows you to see invisible basis and cloaks
