ok, now what? (did ndiswrapper kill ppp?)

I just succeeded in getting wireless working using ndiswrapper.  I also often connect using my cell phone and wvdial, formerly with no problems. Now I can connect to my phone and get an address but everything just hangs forever.  I thought it was a coincidence with the phone but the phone works fine with a different computer.

Any ideas?
