convert audilbe audiobooks to mp3 or ogg?

Does anybody know of a program for linux that can convert from audible's audiobook format, *.aa, to mp3 or ogg format? I have one audible audiobook that I would like to listen to on my computer. Thanks for any help on this.

Re: convert audilbe audiobooks to mp3 or ogg?

There exists nothing that I know of.

I am a current audible subscriber and use AudibleDownloadHelper.exe, and EphPod2 (both work well under wine).

But as far as conversion; I just transfer them to my ipod and listen to them.
There are ways to convert .aa files but I believe that they really only exist on the windows platform.

If you have access to itunes you could always load up your .aa files and burn them to cd . . . and then re-rip them to mp3, ogg, flac ... or whatever.

timetrap is correct. There is no open source solution for these files and almost no one cares enough to try. Breaking Apples encryption usually means an update in a day or two, and they're very serious about cracks right now. Spoken word files will translate fine if recorded through analog and then converted.
