You have to force the upgrade.

Without any offense: it's generally a good idea to first search the forums, bugtracker and have a look at the frontpage news, before you post.

Damn, that was fast.
Thanks, guys, I was wondering how to fix this.

Yep, I always enter the website via the frontpage for that very reason. Doing so has saved me some headaches several times.

It wasn't on the front page when I posted, but I'm glad it's fixed regardless. And since I was the only one to post on the bugtracker...........go figure?

A search for libgpm.so.1 on the forums returns 2 couple of days older threads where exactly your question is asked.
There's a bug (referenced on the news) on the bugtracker about this issue. The only problem is that it's been already closed when this hit the news - so use advanced search and search for closed bugs as well.

It was my bug that was closed. Seems like folks here are getting mightly unfriendly, telling folks to go RTFM............sounds almost like a Debian forum.

Ah Slammer64: by "some folks" - you mean me - so be concrete! No one else in this thread has RTFM attitude towards you.
You say you couldn't figure it out with the available search tools, and I pointed out that you're wrong. Next thing you do is shout "some folks have RTFM attitude!". Go figure.
Just to make it more concrete, a search for "libgpm.so.1" returns 6 threads, one is this and there are other two which talk about the same issue

The bug referenced on the front page is FS#9949 - not yours, it's been there for a while.

My apologies bender02. I was wrong and I'll admit that. However, those posts were several days old and I wouldn't have known whether they applied to my system since I just did a fresh install yesterday. In the meantime, all is well, so end of story.

Yea, sorry, I admit I had a bit of a RTFM attitude.
That gpm package went through testing repo, so first issues started to appear several days ago ![]()
