battery time wrong after upgrading to new conky

I use conky and have a section which tells me if the battery is active and if so what's the percentage and how long do i have left until the battery dies.   It was working fine, with the right time estimation until i upgraded to the new conky version a few days ago and now the time estimation for the battery is all wrong.  Now when my battery is like 90 percent full it tells me that there is only around 30 minutes left, but of course the battery will last for much longer and checking powertop estimate I still have around 4 hours left.  Anyone having this problem after upgrading to the newer conky?

Re: battery time wrong after upgrading to new conky

I have a similar problem. There are a number of conky scripts that I use, and they can all be found at http://vredfreak.atspace.com/projects.html , for instance the gmail check, and the weather, and new arch updates.  But after the last update it does not display the whole information, but only a part. So in the e-mail section it only lists "two and a half" and the archlinux new packages section only lists about 6. I have no idea how to fix this.

I have also started having this problem with one of my own scripts. But another one of them works fine.

They are python scripts, in case that has relevance to anything. I may post it as a bug on the conky page, but I'll see if anyone else has the problem/ any solutions first.

Re: battery time wrong after upgrading to new conky

This has been solved in another thread.

You have to use the line 'text_buffer_size x' in your conky script where x is the maximum length of the output it will display. The default is 128. Having it as a low value will use less CPU time, but obviously if it cuts off the end of your script then thats no good!
