Wtf is Dale doing ?!!
That is not called for! wine was updated in Arch a day before this release came out. And would you expect him to build and dump a new version of wine in the repos without any testing?

Maybe he meant what Dale is doing by finally updating wine ;-)

Yes, thanks for the Wine update. I find that this version of Wine does fix a couple of significant problems which I had been experiencing with version 0.9.58. Wine has evolved rapidly, and there can be real value in keeping it up to date.
I know that some people don't see the importance of Wine, but for folks like myself, who have no choice but to use Windows at work, Wine is a godsend for accessing work data at home on my Linux systems. Also, I've managed to encourage quite a few Windows users to experiment with Linux because of Wine - call it a comforter if you will, but it's a vital package to bridge the gap.

When will Wine 1.0-rc1 be available on pacman? On another note, not meaning to be picky, but when searching on the website for the WINE package, it describes it as " Emulator of the Windows 3.x and Win32 APIs". The point being that it isn't an emulator, so that being corrected may be useful in some regard.

May not be, in the mean time try building it with ABS.

There are wine-suse and bin32-wine-suse packages in AUR that are up to date.
