Suppose I setup two hdd in raid bios as single stripe devices.
Then in dmraid I call for raid 0,1 using an existing hdd as the "1" hdd.
Then I expect I could install the contents of the "1" hdd into the single stripe devices (raid 0 combo) using a "restore raid" command of some kind.
Is this a viable option?
If so, I could later call for raid0 using the two hdd's thusly striped.
Right or wrong?

It sounds like it would work, as converting from one disk to an array: http://wiki.archlinux.org/index.php/Con … em_to_RAID
More complicated conversions might work with http://unthought.net/raidreconf/index.shtml
But that isn't with dmraid aka. fake-raid, for which I don't know of any tools to modify.
The most viable option is to just tar up the filesystem and restore it on the different array, in any case.
