mplayer delay while stopping xscreensaver

After recent update, I have problem with mplayer playback: there is about 12 seconds delay during the startup. I tracked down the problem to the stopping of the xscreensaver - when mplayer comes to that step, it freezes for a while, after which everything goes on normally. Here is the output of mplayer:

$ mplayer -stop-xscreensaver ./movie.avi

The problem occurred after these upgrades:

pam (0.99.9.0-2 -> 1.0.1-1)
coreutils (6.10-2 -> 6.11-1)
curl (7.18.1-1 -> 7.18.1-2)

m4 (1.4.10-3 -> 1.4.11-1)
pkgconfig (0.22-3 -> 0.23-1)
wget (1.11.1-1 -> 1.11.2-1)
wine (0.9.60-1 -> 0.9.61-1)

I googled out the same problem on Ubuntu forum, but the only conclusion I could find was disabling the -stop-xscreensaver feature, which is not the solution. I would be thankful for any hint.

Re: mplayer delay while stopping xscreensaver

Well, the problem just disappeared. I do not know why though. Nothing changed, except updating the nmap package. It is a little mystery to me, maybe someone smarter could explain it to me someday...
