I've just looked at kernel26 PKGBUILD from ABS, and there's only one patch. Does kernel26 going back to vanilla?

It is actually a conglomerate of multiple patches. See http://projects.archlinux.org/?p=linux- … git;a=tree

Indeed, it's not just a simple patch.
But first, I think the creation of this patchset was a good move, it greatly increases the readability of the PKGBUILD.
And there was also an attempt of reducing the amount of patching. It seems like we are back to ~10 patches, while there were twice as many before :

On a side note, one patch (mactel) was dropped because there was simply no other way, it hadn't been updated to 2.6.25, and some users started complaining, apparently without even trying if the kernel even worked for them:
http://archlinux.org/pipermail/arch-gen … 17412.html
Anyway, I am using my own vanilla 2.6.25 kernel for a while. Once a minimal and working config is made, it's just a 10 minutes build, so even updating isn't too time consuming.
But I really like the direction the kernel package took. Strict vanilla isn't necessary, a few patches are perfectly fine when they are justified. So I might switch back to arch kernel when it gets to core.

The mactel project has updated patches for kernel 2.6.25:
http://mactel-linux.svn.sourceforge.net … es-2.6.25/
I would like to know if they are going to be included, or if I should start building my own kernel from now on.
