[SOLVED]Fluxbox sound problems: No sound

Hi all,

I installed fluxbox, enlightenment, awesome, openbox e.t.c to try all these different wms. Fluxbox looks cool and I could edit menu, keys, make wallpaper+themes and many other things. In short, I am enjoying playing with fluxbox.

But now I have some serious problems.

No sound

The problem is in KDE sound works fine but in fluxbox there is no sound. I searched the string "fluxbox no sound" in this forum and google. I found nothing. While I was looking for keys files on the net, I came across the gentoo-fluxbox guide whic said "Fluxbox has no sound control, so we need to do a hack to get one". So i thought this must be a standard problem with fluxbox.(I could not find any thing in fluxbox wiki too).

Can any one tell me what i should do to correct this problem?

Thanks,
Isomorphism

have you tried to launch the kde-sounds-controller-boh (I don't know the real name) from a console and see what is going wrong?

Re: [SOLVED]Fluxbox sound problems: No sound

I think the sound is muted by default.
Try:
# amixer set Master 90% unmute
# amixer set PCM 85% unmute
