I am attempting to compile the newest kernel, 184.108.40.206 for my system to include PAE and use the 6.14gigs of ram currently installed in it. However, I come across the following error when running make menuconfig.
"scripts/kconfig/lex.zconf.c:1647: warning: 'input' defined but not used
Please let me know what you guys make of it. For now, I'm going to compile with the error and see if it still works or not.

That's nothing to worry about, the compiler only warns that a variable was declared, but then never used.

Thanks for the info vEX. I ended up compiling the kernel and my NIC didnt work, but i had 6.09gigs of free mem
Okay, back to the standard Arch kernel.
I am compiling the Arch kernel from ABS with a few modifications to the PKGBUILD.
1. allow make menuconfig to run
2. in the menuconfig, change the processor to core2/xeon/newer, up to 16 cores and enable 64 gigs in the highmem option.
3. run makepkg
Is there anything else i am missing to allow more than 4 cores and also enable PAE for the 6.14gigs of RAM I have installed?
