Pidgin + Avant-window-navigator problem

When i get a message in Pidgin and the conversation window is not focused...it doesnt alert me using avant-window-navigator... Usually (seen in ubuntu+fedora+opensuse) when you get a message and window is not focused the conversation icon in awn will blink (or bounce or squish) but its not happening in archlinux..

I have message notification plugin enabled in pidgin... and alert enabled in awn.

any thoughts?

Is the "alert when application window updated" enabled in awn preferences?

Yes it is enabled... its working now..
seems like its required to disable Pidgin->Plugins->Message Notification->Notification Removal->Remove when a message gets sent
