Is there any test to confirm that performance gain ? I have tried with and without PGO and I don't see any difference...

Yes, it's realy fast!
I also noticed, that FF3 uses my gtk-theme. ![]()
But, scrolling on pages with fixed background (some myspace pages e.g.) is still very very very slow. ![]()
The Windows version of FF2 is scrolling through these pages with lightspeed compared to the Linux Version.

So that's what it is. I get that too sometimes.
Maybe you can use a custom global CSS style (maybe using 'Stylish' add-on) like
body { background-image: none !important; }I tried to find a page and turned it on and off and I think it worked.

So far it works wonderfully.
The only issue I have is the look of the tabs using KDE(mod). Anyone know a fix for this?

I 'm using firefox-spookyet. Very fast and sweet and worth the time to build. No problems at all so far.

Hi,
I just installed spookyet RC1. It is fast and the only issue I have found is this;
Previous to RC1 I was using spookyet 3.0b5. With that release I was able to have it supply userID and password for www.ntta.org. (I had to search the forum for a fix to get it to stor the userID and password but it worked in the end) With RC1, it won't accept any form of keyed entry at all. Anyone have any ideas?
Thanks

i'm remove firefox2 and using firefox3-systemcairo from aur, works great!

I have no issues with passwords.

Would anyone care for Epiphany with Gecko 1.9 (currently it uses the 1.8 engine, like Firefox 2)?
Offline
I think I had the first RC1 package: http://aur.archlinux.org/packages.php?ID=15184
Thanks a lot SpookyET for your great package!

Interesting... It appears that FF3 doesn't start if libpulsedsp.so is preloaded.

Actually that would be nice.
I like FF, but Epiphany would allow use of the globalmenu bar. Kazehakase with Xul 1.9 sounds like a good proposition as well.
I saw that you left a comment on the xulrunner in the AUR. Wondering if you managed to get PGO and Gnome(XFCE?) intergration to work with it yet.

Building as we speak. I don't know yet. But if you have a fast computer, I would appreciate if you build it as well. I'd like epiphany with webkit, but webkitgtk dev is slow. It will be ready in 2-4 months. It's faster than gecko pgo without pgo. According to a mozilla dev, firefox will catch up by 3.1 or 4.0.
I know what you mean about the globalmenubar: http://www.studioindustryllc.com/user/s … enshot.png
You can find my pkgbuilds/binaries at: http://www.studioindustryllc.com/user/s … rch-linux/
You can find xulrunner source at: http://www.megaupload.com/?d=WZH55RER
It's very hard to find the source of xulrunner. I'd appreciate if you can modify the PKGBUILD to use cvs like the one on AUR, but uses releases, not trunk. In this case RC1.

Okay...
Observation 1: Holycrap RC1 is fast. As fast as Midori, maybe faster for some things.
Observation 2: It's also a damn site lighter than Beta 5.
Observation 3: ... It has an EULA. Seriously. What the hell, Mozilla?

The've added Help => Report Broken Web Site..., and Help => Report Web Forgery
Is it new or I haven't noticed it before?
Reporting broken web site is a nice feature, but if I want to report an URL, it must be opened, and Fx crashes when I try to open it ![]()

PKGBUILD:
http://rafb.net/p/btLJbB93.html
mozconfig:
http://rafb.net/p/38TUZi43.html
That should grab the _branch in xulrunner and compile it using the optimizations you set SpookEt.
As of right now, it is set for the FF3 RC2 Release
you can find the different release branch tags at:
http://developer.mozilla.org/en/docs/CVS_Tags
That for Xulrunner btw
Edit: had wrong PKGBUILD link
PKGBUILD updated again

Thank you. The problem is that there is something wrong with my PKGBUILD. It gets built and installed, but EPIPHANY and YELP which have to be recompiled don't see it. They think xullrunner is missing.

The PKGBUILD was updated. We both had bad versions. Well not bad, but rather the rc1 messes with the packaging.
Also, what version of Epiphany are you recompiling?
I'm trying to get the SVN trunk to not ask for Webkit, but it seems hell-bent on having webkit installed.

Epiphany has moved to webkit. You cannot use trunk. I used the one in extra. You can use up to 2.22.2.
If you are on IRC, msg me.

There seems to be a 404 syntax error in your PKGBUILD.

Uhm, my orignal post has the new link. Rafb makes a new link for each new upload. So it's a dynamic link.
http://rafb.net/p/btLJbB93.html
That is the right link.
I tried both Epiphany 2.22.2 and Kazehakase 5.4, but neither are able to recognize the xulrunner 1.9 in building. I think it has to do with the pkgconfig files and the fact that 1.9 defaults to basing off libxul whereas before libxul as in dev and not considered the main part of xulrunner. I'm currently building it as a static file so libxul is not used.
