Lojack in the BIOS--does it affect Arch?

I'm getting my laptop (that comes with Vista) with a year worth of Lojack on it to try it out. I finally ended up going with a Lenovo Thinkpad R61 after hemming and hawing (it had a webcam on the 15.4'' while the T61 did not sad) and my plan was to shrink the Windows partition to be used for times when adobe flash fails me (Hi-def videos!), install Linux, install Grub onto the MBR, and party.
Well, I've googled some on Lojack and it looks like it installs into the BIOS when supported (my computer supports it) and I saw one user saying they had an issue installing Ubuntu because Lojack tried to overwrite it or something.
I don't completely understand how all this works, but does anyone have Lojack in their BIOS and Linux running and can tell me if they've had any issues?
