Re: giflib, libungif

Use the giflib from AUR? tomk should replace libungif with giflib soonish. http://bugs.archlinux.org/task/8927

There shouldn't be any reason to learn more editor types than emacs or vi -- mg (1)

Re: giflib, libungif

That's what I did but it broke emacs.  Can't have that...

could I rebuild emacs-cvs and replace libungif with giflib in it's PKGBUILD?

Re: giflib, libungif

Try icetdtea6 1.1-4 from
[archlinuxfr]
Server = http://repo.archlinux.fr/i686
or
[archlinuxfr]
Server = http://repo.archlinux.fr/x86_64
It does not depend on any of the gif libs.

Re: giflib, libungif

if I use those repos upgrades and installations of other stuff won't be pulled from them too, will they?

Re: giflib, libungif

They will as long as you keep the repos in your pacman.conf.

Edit: BTW. I changed the dependency from libungif to giflib in my aur package emacs-otf, so it should work in emacs-cvs, too.
