glxinfo and glxgears both segfault

I don't even know what kind of trouble this might cause or what this might mean, but both glxinfo and glxgears segfault; I noticed while I was trying to diagnose a problem I was having with a game, but now I'm even more stumped than before.

# glxgears
[1]    9133 segmentation fault  glxgears

# glxinfo
name of display: :0.0
[1]    9110 segmentation fault  glxinfo

Edit: Could this have something to do with the fact that I have two instances of xorg running?

uhm.. the best I can suggest is to gather more informations..
report the output of  glxgears -info (if it doesn't crash..), your video card, video card driver installed, xorg version, xorg.conf ...
