I think that the new grub-artwork the new iso uses should be downloadable seperately. I did find another version here but I think it's kinda hidden, so i suggest to add the various grub-gfx themes either to one of the newly create -artwork-packages and/or make them available at http://www.archlinux.org/art/.
If this has been done somewhere already, I'm sorry for opening this thread, but I didn't find anything and grub-gfx(in community) only contains the old logo.

Consider posting a feature request to the Arch bug tracker. Devs don't always read the forum.

hi, I'm not sure (I'm simply taking a look at the latest rc release)
but if you want to use it don't you simply need the "/boot/splash.xpm.gz" file?
and the
color light-blue/blue black/light-grey
splashimage=/boot/splash.xpm.gzlines taken by the /boot/grub/menu.lst in the cd?
just wondering.. I've not tested this
p.s. I'm not totally sure this is what you asked ^^"

I know how to use it and how to get the themes, although it's not very convenient, so I just recommended to put them in a more visible place.
I think I will open a feature request then, thanks for the hint.

I think you should make a bug report about the community grub-gfx package to use the new logo. Be sure to report in the right section of the bug tracker.
AFAIK the default Archlinux grub doesnt support logos and stuff. Thats the whole point of having that gfx community package.

There shouldn't be any reason to learn more editor types than emacs or vi -- mg (1)

maybe you are right, I'm having problems with the command I wrote...
but the wiki's grub page ( http://wiki.archlinux.org/index.php/Grub )
tells that "splashimage (hdn,m)/grub/Name.xpm.gz is the splash-image-file" is a valid option...
I'm experimenting with it now..
