I've instaled hplip on my almost fresh system, add cups to my deamons and then run hp-setup from console. It curretly detected my printer (deskjet 845c) but when I hit enter it said: Error: printer queue setup failed, please restart cups and try again.
Wheres problem? And how can I fix it? Thx for every help.

Solved. It was my stupid fault. I changed my hostname and dont fix /etc/hosts

I don't get it:
I changed /etc/hosts accordingly, yet I get the exact same error message.

The strange thing is, printing from cups works perfectly. However, hp-toolbox does not recogize the installed printer (network printer)

rebuilding an updated hplip (2.8.5) package solved it for me.

Solved: I had to sudo hp-setup -i

Talk about a Necro Bump. The posts from 2008 are no doubt completely out-of-date for your new comment.
