When I load XFCE, I get this message.
Could not look up internet address for myhost. This will prevent XFCE from working correctly.
It may be possible ti correct the problem by adding myhost to the file /etc/hosts on your system.
I can Either try again or continue. This does not appear to cause any problems, except it pops up this box when loading XFCE, neither gnome or kde gave this error.

Make sure the hostname in your /etc/rc.conf file matches the hostname in your /ets/hosts file. For example, I changed mine to 'erebus', and my files look like this:
/etc/rc.conf
#
# -----------------------------------------------------------------------
# NETWORKING
# -----------------------------------------------------------------------
#
HOSTNAME="erebus"
#
/etc/hosts
#
# /etc/hosts: static lookup table for host names
#
#<ip-address> <hostname.domain.org> <hostname>
127.0.0.1 localhost.localdomain erebus
# End of file

rc.conf says myhost and hosts says localhost. That must be the issue.
