[Poll] Preferred wallpaper resolution.

It hadn't occurred to me, but most people don't use 1024x768 anymore... What resolutions would people like to see for future work?

1680x1050 is very very popular, as a lot of people (including me) use 22" Widescreens in these times... other popular resolutions are 1280x1024 for the usual 17-19" TFTs, and for bigger 4:3's there is 1600x1200....

i think it shoudnt be a problem to make wallpapers in 4:3 and 16:10, and for each make at least the biggest one (1600x1200 & 1680x1050 (->or even the other one, 1920xsomething??))! Everybody should be able to scale an image down...

Was about to say that, just make a 16:10, 16:9 and 4:3 in the highest resolutions, scaling down is no prob.

1024x768 so it fits my laptop screen

2560x1600 (or SVG)

Then everyone can use it and just crop resize it to their needs.
I really hate it when I find a nice wallpaper and the resulution is smaller than my screen.

BTW: this is not a brag post, my largest screen is just 1600x1200.

I have 3 PCs,so:
1. 1024x768
2. 1280x800 (laptop)
3. 1920x1200

I agree with lessthanjake, big wallpaper resolutions can leave everyone satisfied..

do them at 2560x1600 or greater; you'll be future-proofing great work as and when wall-sized monitor wallpaper eventually makes it into our homes

2560x1600 is the best and you shoud use it.
1900x1200 is ok too coz you can use it in 1600x1200 (whitch is minimum btw)

1280x1024 is actually 5:4, not 4:3, so you should probably make a special copy for that resolution. Other than that, just make large 4:3 and 16:9 copies and let them scale down.

desktop1: 16:10 1680x1050
TV: 16:9 1366x768
laptop: 4:3 1024x768
desktop2-3: 5:4 1280x1024

Four different aspect ratios on 5 computers... heh

SVGs for 5:4, 4:3, 16:10, and 16:9 would be ideal, but since that's not always practical:

+1 1280x800
+1 1680x1050
