making the switch kdemod--->kde[Solved]

I started out using arch with kdemod but since lately I have been having problems installing various software I want to go with vanilla kde. My question is can I just pacman -S kde and then pacman -Rs kdemod or do I have to basically do a fresh install. Thanks.

There's no problem with replacing KDEmod with KDE. KDEmod may use the ~/.kde folder, so I would delete that if you want to start anew.

By the way, I'm currently in Tempe. Are you in the metro area?

Re: making the switch kdemod--->kde[Solved]

It was a little tricky, I had to uninstall a bunch of stuff that relied on the kdemod stuff. But it worked and now my desktop looks like ass so I have to start all over there but hopefully installing stuff will work out better now.

normally installing kde through pacman should simply replace exisiting packages...
and in worst case (and only if you know you install the same packages anyway) you can use pacman -Rd. In that case programs that depend on the removed packages wont be uninstalled.

Yea it tried but there were programs that depended on some of the different kdemod packages.
