Using Alpine

I've been using Alpine and I really like it, but I can't figure out how to refresh my Inbox or check to see if there are new messages on the server.

Re: Using Alpine

I'm not sure how accurate this is with reference to Alpine, but pine doesn't seem to be able to refresh the inbox without restarting the program.http://www.washington.edu/pine/faq/usage.html#5.5

Edit: Actually, you should be able to refresh the folder by leaving it and then reconnecting.

Re: Using Alpine

From your INBOX, press '<' and then '>'. There is no refresh key, but that does the job for me.

Re: Using Alpine

You can try with C-l, I'm not sure if they planned this behaviour, but it works.

You need to install an RTFM interface.

Re: Using Alpine

From the documentation (http://www.washington.edu/alpine/mans.html)

"New mail checking and notification occurs automatically every 2.5 minutes and after certain commands, e.g. refresh-screen (Ctrl-L)"
