I just zipped through it now with 64bit. Got Gentoo and Slackware. I've tried both in the past and as far as I'm concerned Arch is a much better fit. I've noticed that it's a lot easier to keep clean. Gentoo is just a pain IMHO, if I want to compile my packages I'll do it myself. Don't get me wrong, it's a nice concept, it's just not for me.

That's what I got. I chose, though, a text-mode installer, "other" DEs, latest stable software, and said expert. But I basically got what is best for me b/c I fit those criteria FTMP.
I also said it's for a laptop.
NOTE: This screenshot is my parents' computer. My Firefox (actually Minefield) is not as cluttered; just back/forward/stop/refresh/location bar (i use Hide Menu Bar and I don't have a bookmarks bar). And I use Openbox, not KWin.

That one always puzzled me too....

But if they tell you that I've lost my mind, maybe it's not gone just a little hard to find...

that was my guess too, but Arch does have repositories...

took it twice, with slightly different answers. first time arch, slack, gentoo, second time gentoo, arch, slack.

That's what I thought, but emerge, pacman, and swaret exist so it it must mean something else. Maybe they mean some sort of Linspire Click-n-run interface?
My roomates said they were going to get me rims for Christmas, or a CB radio so I can talk to other car beds; that'll be hot. Might get a stereo, too. My sister said I should get an alarm.

I didnt put expert and got arch, gentoo slack.
I think the main question that decides is the bleeding edge or stable one.
I choose bleeding edge though... ![]()

I've used Zenwalk, it is fairly minimal. It was my favourite distro before trying Arch but I must admit I didn't really dig beneath the surface of it.

Slack, Gentoo, Arch. I've only tried Arch, but maybe I'll give Slack a go. ![]()

Sent this feedback message:
I just got Zenwalk, Slackware, Gentoo and Arch Linux, I guess that your test isn't working nicely in the aspect that Arch Linux isn't for "Really Advanced Super Linux Geeks", but instead it's just aimed at capable to learn users since it's easy to get it to work (it got LOTS of Documentation and a great supporting community)...
Also I have to say that Arch Linux DOES HAVE online software repositories which are extense having a lot of packages divided in 5 official repos... and a community one.
Arch also has both a binary (yeah precompiled apps!!) package manager like apt-get called pacman and a FreeBSD "ports" like system called "ABS" (Arch Build System) so that you can easily recompile your apps if needed, including the official compiling scripts and methods.
Arch comes in two official flavors: Arch for 32 bits systems (i686 optimized) and Arch 64 (for AMD64).
Hope this helps the service to improve. Keep up the good job!
Proud Ex-Arch user.
Still an ArchLinux lover though.
Currently on Kubuntu 9.10

Slackware, Arch, Gentoo.
Never tried Gentoo, but I also love Slackware. I just don't like the fact that you need three CD's, and KDE is the default desktop. I love how in Arch, there is no default desktop. It just installs the minimum and you build it how you want it.

Part of the problem is that Arch is considered an "expert" distro on the test, which leads to somewhat strange results for non-expert users like myself.
