Is it just me or is arch not taken seriously as a real distro?
I've taken this quiz (http://www.zegeniestudios.net/ldc/) many times, yet I have NEVER gotten arch as one of the results, even though it is one of the possible results. I never tried putting myself as an expert, and yet I got gentoo once...
Personally, I think arch is easier to setup and maintain than ubuntu.
I probably would have never tried arch, if it wasn't for that fact that someone recommended it to me.

I think this test, is made by a single person from feedbacks as I remember, so you may ask the developer behind "how" you actually get Arch as result.
Probably you can convince the person that arch is not that much for pros.

I just got arch... first time.
And where were all the sportsmen who always pulled you though?
They're all resting down in Cornwall

I didnt put expert and got arch, gentoo slack.
I think the main question that decides is the bleeding edge or stable one.

yeah and the package types, and develpment packages, if you want .deb packages you wont get arch

I remember that test, I must have done it years ago. Actually it said, Arch would be best for me. Was the first time I heard about Arch. At that time i thought the test was crap, because I answered the questions with Fedora in mind, but must have made something "wrong" at some point. Long Long time after that, when it came to really choose a distro for every day use i eventually installed arch. The suggestion is appropriate for one year now.

I think it's the package format question that decides. I think you need to put "I prefer other", don't know what's wrong with selecting "I don't know/ don't care"
Anyway, not knowing and not caring isn't the same thing at all, not even vaguely close.....

But if they tell you that I've lost my mind, maybe it's not gone just a little hard to find...

Yeah, a few of those those options were improperly overloaded.
My roomates said they were going to get me rims for Christmas, or a CB radio so I can talk to other car beds; that'll be hot. Might get a stereo, too. My sister said I should get an alarm.

I always get Slackware and Gentoo if I put in 64 bit. Arch doesn't appear until I change to 32 bit, then I get it always too.
Offline
Debian, Kubuntu, Fedora and OpenSuSE. I ran SuSE before I came to Arch and like Arch much more. I tried Debian and Kubuntu in a virtual machine and didn't like it... The only Distribution left is Fedora but as it sounds to me like SuSE from another company I won't try it out...

Gentoo and Slack when I did 64-bit, Arch, Gentoo and Slack when I did 32-bit...I really need to try Slackware sometime.
Stop looking at my signature. It betrays your nature.

Exactly the same.

Gentoo, Slack and Arch were my 32-bit results. It just returns Gentoo for 64-bit. This test needs to be updated to account for Arch64 being an official architecture.
