how do I set the correct time?

I read all about local time and UTC and all of the other things that I could find in wiki but it seems that no matter what I try I cannot get the time on my computer to be right it is seven hours fast I wished all I had to do was right click on. I tried local time in the /etc/rc.conf file I also tried UTC even -8 lol how do I get the correct time ?

try 'date MMDDhh'
example:
'date 05271012' would set time now

Check to see that your hardware clock is set right...I know I had this issue for a while where I was plus 8 hours despite all the time zones being set correctly in arch - checked the hardware clock and it was +8 hours from utc.

I tried all of the above none of it seemed to work then it hit me all I had to do was set the time though my Bios and that cured the problem but now I get a minor error saying that line 19 in the rc.config file ( which is the "LocalTime" setting) is messed

I think you should get rid of the Capital letters in "LocalTime":

HARDWARECLOCK="localtime"
