pacman kernel upgrade: Error: module 'generic' not found

I ran pacman -Syu today and it updated my kernel to .25-1. It ran through all the way, but it was printing out "Error: module 'generic' not found" which kindof worries me a little cuz I do have IDE devices in my computer that used to use the generic module.
I didn't try booting that kernel yet cuz I need to use my computer today and I can't risk not being able to boot. Well anypooh, did anyone experience the same problem, or is for some reason that I'm missing it not a big deal if the generic module is missing?

edit: here's the pacman output: http://pastebin.com/m13b72bfd
It's not a big help, just showing that the build processes can't find the generic module and that it doesn't abort.

Re: pacman kernel upgrade: Error: module 'generic' not found

Just change back to the 2.6.24 kernel from your /var/cache/pacman/pkg in the mean time, not worth rebooting if you have something that actually needs generic, though you must have a really old computer for that to be the case.

Re: pacman kernel upgrade: Error: module 'generic' not found

The module is called ide-pci-generic since 2.6.25. Just "generic" wasn't a good name for a generic IDE PCI driver.

Re: pacman kernel upgrade: Error: module 'generic' not found

you should change the name of the module in your rc.conf and mkinitcpio.conf as well

All design goals must be phrased in such a way that it is hard to use them as slogans to justify stupidity.
