Idle (python) no cursor positioning by mouse

Hello,

probably I was in the wrong place in the "newbie corner", so I'll try here:

have a problem when using the python-Idle on Arch (64). This replicates when using FaunOS (a live distro based on Arch, no 64).
I am used to be able to position the cursor via mouse click. This is, when i click somewhere in my text, the cursor is positioned there.
This does work fine when running Idle in Windows, this is working when running in Xandros on the eee pc (but there is an older version installed).
But this does not work when running in Arch.  I tried starting Idle from a shell to see possible errors, but there are none.

Could you help me out here?

Thanks in advance!

Regards
Matthias

Re: Idle (python) no cursor positioning by mouse

This is NOT a solution, but you might want to try an IDE in gtk... For a much more featured yet extremely lightweight IDE, you might try Geany. It's extensible, feature-rich, and it probably loads twice as fast as your day-to-day text editor big_smile.

Sorry, if you're under KDE - you may try Kdevelop..
