Rhythmbox out of gnome-extra?

Hi there,
wasn't Rhythmbox in gnome-extra?
http://wiki.archlinux.org/index.php/Gnome_Tips still says it's on gnome-extra and I think I remember installing arch before without having to install rhythmbox manually.

Bug or "feature" in the meta-package? roll

Re: Rhythmbox out of gnome-extra?

From memory, totem is the offical gnome media player and rhythmbox was just a contributed project.  I think the main clue here is the version number for rhythmbox does not match the gnome desktop release.  So rhythmbox not being part of the offical gnome desktop should not be in gnome-extra.

Anyway, the wiki does not say it is part of gnome-extra.

These are some other nice applications and utilities for gnome, most of which can be downloaded all at once with:

pacman -Sy gnome-extra

Re: Rhythmbox out of gnome-extra?

I know totem can play audio files, but it isn't a decent audio player.
Rhythmbox is a gnome project. http://www.gnome.org/projects/ Dunno if that's enough to make it a gnome-extra candidate.
The weird thing here is that (I think) it was, but no longer is... can anyone confirm?
It's ok to manually install it, but I wouldn't mind having it on gnome-extra smile

Re: Rhythmbox out of gnome-extra?

I suggest Banshee, it has left Rhythmbox in the dust. There is an older version in extra and the latest version in my repository: http://www.studioindustryllc.com/user/s … rch-linux/

Thanks, I'll try it, though I love Rhythmbox interface with artist/album/play queue panels.
