when im in fluxbox and trying to install kde, i get this error:
/.CHANGELOG exists in both "libxslt" and "curl'
/.CHANGELOG exists in both "libxslt" and "net-snmp
/.CHANGELOG exists in both "curl" and "netsnmp''
but this seems to happen all the time. Its not a one time thing, I continually get errors like this.
Should I fix something somewhere or do i need to force the install?
Thanks

I personally would force the install, but you can wait for more answers in this thread to get more information, perhaps.

Could you post a little more context? It sort of looks like for some reason the install is looking for a file under the root directory, so they're all finding it, of course. A console dump from the time you issue the pacman command all the way through would be great.

Is your system fully up to date? I thought that was a problem with old versions of pacman.

If you do a pacman -Su, that will upgrade your whole system, including pacman. I had the same problem, but updating pacman fixed it.

my bad guys, i forgot to come back and say this should be closed as a topic. I got around it some time ago and am just working on fine tuning my arch install now.
