Hi,
I've installed Gnome, but I have problem with printer icon in systray. In Ubuntu everything works, but in arch not. I've installed system-config-printer, also it's in Seasons, but when I'm printing something, the applet won't start. I get this message in terminal system-config-printer-applet: failed to start NewPrinterNotification service . Thanks for a help, Rokas.

although I get no error message, it never worked for me...
To know recursion, you must first know recursion.

Same here. Doesn't work for me either in KDE 4.1.1. I can print no problem but the printer applet never shows.

I reported the bug couple weeks ago, but it seems not to be fixed

Has anybody gotten the printer applet to work? Rokixz, do you have link to the bug report you made?

AFAIK this thing uses dbus. Redhat has a patched cups that sends messages about printers over dbus if I'm not mistaken.

I've got dbus working but still everytime I print the applet doesn't start neither in KDE (KDEmod4) or GNOME. It's the only thing that I haven't gotten working on Arch since I switched from Ubuntu (and this worked on Ubuntu).
