I updated to the new drivers and utils from the testing repo. This was the message I got when I tried to startx
Error API mismatch the NVIDIA kernel module has version 169.12, but the NVIDIA driver component has revision 173.14.05 Please make sure that the kernel module and all NVIDIA driver components have the same version....How do I update what version my kernel module has?

Try rebooting.

Did you do this before restarting X (as root):
# modprobe -r nvidia
# modprobe nvidiaIf that doesn't work, what's the output of
pacman -Q | grep nvidiaStand back, intruder, or i'll blast you out of space! I am Klixon and I don't want any dealings with you human lifeforms. I'm a cyborg!

Rebooting worked...:/
I feel a bit dumb that I didn't try that in the first place...
Thanks anyway! ![]()

For the record -- klixon's suggestion would have also worked, it's in fact the proper way to do it (I was just, frankly, too lazy to explain it the way he did, and reboot basically accomplished the same thing).

Neither rebooting nor modprobe solved this problem for me.
The pacman -Q | grep nvidia output:
lib32-nvidia-utils 173.14.05-1
nvidia 173.14.09-4
nvidia-utils 173.14.09-1Do I have to wait till the lib32-nvidia-utils get upgraded for my arch64 installation?

You can, or get the PKGBUILD from ABS & change the pkgver.
