nvidia from testing and kde (solved)

If I load nvidia and nvidia-utils from testing and start kde the computer freezes and I have to restart. If I revert to the previous version everything works fine. Does anyone know what the problem might be.

I use the testing drivers and my graphics card works better than ever... It's weird that you'd have problems like that.
Try running a

nvidia-xconfig

when you have the new drivers installed.

I've already run nvidia-config and it didn't help.

I loaded nvidia from the nvidia site. When I followed the instructions the installer complained about missing kernel modules and offered to install them. When finished everything worked.
